We have taken that concept a step further, and turned the Stammtisch into an excuse to practice new languages. We still meet regularly, as the name demands. The only difference is that we're not only there to eat, drink, make new friends, and be merry - we're also there to learn a language!

Who is it for?

Our Stammtisch is a mixture of native German-speakers, native English-speakers, and other nationalities who can speak English and German at a conversational level. Newcomers are always welcome. Please let us know if you're interested, so that we can be sure to reserve a seat for you!

How does it work?

We usually start with one hour of English, followed by one hour of German. There are no rules - speak to whoever you want, about whatever you like! If someone hears you speaking the wrong language, you'll probably get a friendly reminder to switch back to the current Stammtisch language.

After two hours, it's a free-for-all. You're welcome to speak whatever language you like!

Where do I find it?

Our meeting time and place is regular, and any changes will be posted on this site (see Stammtisch Details). Please send an e-mail if you would like to join us, so we know to look out for you. When you arrive at the pub, look for green or blue cards on the table that say "Stammtisch."

If the weather is nice, we'll probably be outside in the biergarten!
